TDE is one of the main national producers in Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE). We have three manufacturing units. Of all the known thermoplastic materials, low-density polyethylene is one of the most widespread polymers due to its great versatility in the field of transformation and subsequent handling.

Benefits of polyethylene

The advantages of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) are closely related to its properties and can be summarized as follows:

    LDPE can stretch significantly without breaking, making it ideal for products such as plastic bags and plastic films.

    Its moisture resistance makes it suitable for storage containers, chemical tank linings and water pipes, preventing liquids from leaking.

    High impact resistance at low temperatures and good weather resistance.

  • Chemical resistance

    Its high resistance to chemicals makes it suitable for food packaging and hygienic work surfaces.

  • Extreme temperature resistance

    It can maintain its shape in a temperature range of -40ºC to 90ºC, which makes it suitable for applications in extreme conditions.

  • Electrical insulation

    Its property as a poor conductor of electricity makes it useful for insulation in electrical wires and cables.

  • Cost-effectiveness and recyclability

    It is economical to produce and widely recyclable, making it attractive for mass production and reducing environmental concerns.

  • Good transparency

    Good transparency and absence of odor and toxicity.

Low-density polyethylene

The use of a reactor-based process with the characteristics of TDE provides numerous advantages for the quality of the product, such as:

  • High product homogeneity

    Very important factor from the transformation point of view, as it has a great influence on stability and mechanical properties. This homogeneity is achieved by a precise control of the polymerization at any point of the reactor, which leads to a high stability of the reaction.

  • Possibility of achieving a narrow molecular weight distribution

    Leads to very good flow rheological properties and consequently exceptional optical characteristics, especially in high and medium transparency grades.

  • Versatility in reaction control

    Allows to obtain polymers with well-defined molecular structures, according to each future application.

  • Ease of density variation

    Relative ease of density variation over very wide values.
